Welcome! I am glad you are here.
One of my favorite frameworks for counseling comes from Carl Rogers: “Deep understanding is, I believe, the most precious gift one can give to another.” So much of our day-to-day experience is pathologized, but what if states like anxiety, deep sadness and interpersonal conflict are, in part, normal responses to difficult conditions?
My job is to thoughtfully reflect back what my clients bring to the work. Your goals may be known to you, or there could be so-called shadow issues that take time and trust to emerge. Either way, I strive to hold a space of non-judgement and a spirit of partnership as we uncover pathways of healing.
Services
Individual Counseling
Together we will uncover your unique goals for counseling. I am well-versed in several research-based modalities, but I move flexibly between them depending upon your needs. I gravitate most heavily toward Internal Family Systems and somatic interventions.
Couples Counseling
Couples work can be uniquely rewarding. At the same time, it asks a lot of each partner. There are times when this may mean focusing on particular challenges, but I strive to be mindful in balancing this with supports. If you are seeking counseling together, there are strengths to draw from.
Group Work
I facilitate small groups throughout the year. Topics include: growing up in narcissistic family systems, well-being for parents of sensitive children and writing as a mode of self exploration and agency. Groups are dynamically formed and I would love your input on areas of interest.
